The oldest building on the Ole Miss campus, the Lyceum dates to c. 1848 and was the first structure built on the campus. It is named after Aristotle’s Lyceum, an Ancient Greek temple in Athens. The Lyceum is contributing property of the National Historic Landmark The Lyceum-The Circle Historic District.
