The Reng Student Union at Arkansas State University is the “Hub of Campus Activity”. It is named in honor of Carl R. Reng who served as president of the then Arkansas State College from 1951 to 1975. ASUs roots, however, date to 1909 when it was founded as the First District Agricultural School, one of four district agricultural schools founded in in 1909 by the Arkansas General Assembly.
