Part of She's Arkansas Heritage Collection, Arkansas Tech University’s roots date to 1910 when it opened as the Second District Agricultural School, one of four such schools in Arkansas. Later named Arkansas Polytechnic College and eventually Arkansas Tech University, ongoing improvement projects that started in 1995 include the 1999 opening of the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center.
